The investigators were tied to the husband. And was later found out that this was an arranged set up and dissapearance while framing the husband for roberry of massive amounts and its family. The wife took the offer of Desi, he was a long time admirer. While escaping he killed Desi and went home to nick only to find out nick was finding a way to put her wife in Jail yet failed to do since Amy was pregnant and having a baby. It all ends when the two lives together not for the family and love. Yet Nick Dunne decided to be a father all though he knows his wife was a psychopath and would ruin other people life to get their attention.
