THE BELL WITCH : MY REVIEW

BOOK: THE BELL WITCH
GENRE: HORROR FICTION
MY RATING: 5 STARS

I would consider this my most scariest read for this year. Reading this book gave me doubt and slight fear when I am alone. The book has pictures so readers can refer to it upon reading. It could have been better if the author have edited it well and removed some information that is not useful. I find it redundant on some parts that make this book to take a long time to read. The story of the bell witch started when a family named Bell settled in a big land in Tennessee. The land was a burial ground for a very long time. The author somehow failed to get the point on what entity the so call "bell witch was" however the author have experience some scary events while writing this book. I do believed that the long explanation in the entity and about the bell family made this book interesting to read at night.
The entity that killed John Bell and Elizabeth failed marriage was because of the entity known as the bell witch it has been said that it can take any animal form. But it cannot read minds. It also played tricks to those visitors of John bell and as well as peddlers. The spirit can recall the sermon and can sing hymns. Its favorite subject was debating about the bible and religion. It was said that the bell family is active church goers christian and Baptist. The author however have given recent stories about the Bell witch cave and the bell cemetery. The book could have been great if the author have presented the background of the characters and the narration of their encounter about "KATE" the name KATE was suspected because they have a suspected neighbor involved in witchcraft. Another incidence is POWELL hidden affection to LUCY BELL one of John Bell daughter. The marriage of Lucy Bell didn't happen because of kate. It was believed that the with of the bell family still lurks around the cemetery and the land where John bell home is erected . As a reader I believed that it has a lot of entity that disturb the bell family. It is a chilling tale to read alone at night. I even believed that it was the devil who pestered this family. One story I recalled while reading this book is that there was a bachelor whom "KATE visited" to outsmart the entity the man hugged the spirit and throw the spirit with a covered blanket into the fireplace only to find out that the smell and spirit vanish in fire. Overall I enjoyed reading this book. I agree that this book could have been edited.
