MY BOOK REVIEW : FORTY RULES OF LOVE
TITLE OF THE BOOK: FORTY RULES OF LOVE
AUTHOR: ELIF SHAFAK
GENRE: INSPIRATIONAL, RELIGION
MY RATING: 4 STARS
"For every thief who departs this world, A new one is born and every decent person who passes away is replaced by a new one. In this way not only does nothing remain the same but also nothing ever really changes. For every Sufi who dies, another is born somewhere. Our religion is the religion of Love and we are all connected in a chain of hearts. If one of the links is broken another one is added elsewhere." - ELLA
I came across reading this book because a nice friend of mine from a far place knew I have read a kite runner. I like the kite runner. So He suggested I read this one. At first I was curious and excited to read the book. The book is easy to read and the author writing style is narration of each characters story. It involves three story that stood while I was reading this book the story of Ella and Azziz later on ended in a sweet ending. The second story was about Rumi and Shamz of Tabriz the poet Rumi got his poetic tongue when the shamz stayed in his household. Rumi became close to the Sufi that he let this Sufi stay at his house and even married one of his students that have fallen in love with him. Third the story of the harlot who fearlessly left the Harlot house to find God. The book gave a lot of deep quotes to ponder on and I even wrote them in a paper so I could remember it. I also laugh upon reading this book as the shamz of Tabriz begin his journey. I always pick up this book and read it. It just feels good reading some phrases that makes you wonder. I gave it a four stars because of the story. It is a worth to read. And it is my love book read for the month of February. The author pointed out that "love is always the reason why we live in this world and second our faith revolves into one reason. The author have included the above quote that touched my heart and I agree that division in religions cause hate to each other, in fact we need each other.Overall the book is about that we should love beyond what we cannot and what we can see. To fill our cup with love. And when it comes to faith.... we only worship one and that is God the giver of love.
Ella fell in love while reading the book " SWEET BLASPHEMY" written by a travelling sufi author. She followed him to konya ( a place in Turkey). She left her family and followed what she likes and believed in.
ENDING: Ella spent her time with AZIZZ ( Sweet blasphemy) until his death due to cancer
The shamz of Tabriz was murder and one of the murder was Rumi son
Dessert Rose the Harlot become a SUFI
Ella plans to move to Amsterdam
