Wonderful Singapore: Day 3: City Tour Part 1.Orchard Road and My ice cream.

It was on the third day I enjoyed my Singapore trip. My sister finally took me out patiently to see Singapore by day. And it was my first time to ride a public train the Circle Line and Red line. Our first stop would be on Orchard Road. The cleanliness and orderliness of Singapore made it possible for me to move at ease. My sister and I took many pictures while we were on train. Our first stop Orchard Road. Singapore's shopping capital as they say "You haven't been to Singapore if you haven't visited Orchard Road. Singapore Railway is easy to understand. Train station are organized and each station has its own shopping malls and grocery stores. Each station has a wide variety of foods to offer.

Obviously when you ride train you should have a ticket. But in Singapore, you have to purchase
a re-loadable card. This card is re-usable till six rides and you get a rebate on your sixth trip.

My MRT and LRT re-loadable card

Me and MRT and LRT card. I finally have it and I am ready to see the city of Singapore! :)

The Machine were we both our Train Cards and reload for our fare. Each fare cost SGD 10 to 30. The farther the destination the expensive the fare would cost.

Khatib Train Station railway. Notice how safe the railways are. The glass doors are close to avoid falling from the ledge. So kids or accidental slip would be avoided.

We are heading to Orchard Road!

This was taken inside the train. I am confident to pose like this because I know I am safe and nobody would try to steal my bag and my camera. Notice how the people are too busy with their own Iphone and tablet?

Me and my sister on our way to Orchard road :)

As soon as we step off the train. I experience my first ever Pen shopping!. I wouldn't pass this chance to buy a nice pen at Orchard.
My First Pen shopping. I spotted this newly opened stationary shop in Orchard. I bought SGD 5 ballpoint pen and an SGD 8 gel pen. ( Travel inspired pen and a silver pattern classy looking pen)  As of the moment I am using it as my daily road warrior. SHOP Kikki K-  They carry stationary lines such as papers, planner and organizers. And classy looking pens.

And as my sister says I have to experience the 1 dollar ( 1sgd) Ice cream sandwich. Here it is this is uncle the ice cream sandwich vendor. He stays in the afternoon along the sidewalk of Orchard Rd to sell his ever famous Selecta ice cream.
Uncle making our Ice cream sandwich. I like the way he makes our ice cream with enthusiasm. That is why more and more people are flooding his kiosk. He makes every ice cream sandwich with a smile.

Ice Cream flavor just for 1 SGD:)

Uncle makes his ice cream very clean. He use the clean technique in packing the ice cream sandwich.

Almost perfectly done just for me to taste! Bon appetite!

My ice cream sandwich:) Cookies and Cream in a wafer! Its cool to see an ice cream such wide and big as an ivory soap wrapped on a wafer.

the locals crossing the street. Locals are few but you can glimpse more Chinese, Filipino and American in the crowd.

That's how orchard looks before lunch time. I had so much fun in orchard road. If you are looking for quality and worth of money purchases in Singapore. I would refer Orchard Road. High -end shops and expensive prices. But its worth it! After all I even got one of my ballpoint pens here in Orchard Road.

I love to extend this post until I share about my other train station stops. In the meantime, I finished my post till orchard road. Next stop..... toot toot toot City hall, Bishan and Marina Bay Sands Mall. :)

Editor's Note: The money I spent on my tour here in Orchard Road was from my savings. I worked hard for it. The pens are affordable and it came from my pocket as well as my food and transportation.
