Wonderful Singapore: Day 2 : I live in Yishun!

Note: Sorry for the delay of doing the second part of my first entry about my Singapore adventure. Happy 2014 :) How did your new year go?

Without further adieu, I would like to share my experience about my travel in Singapore!

I woke up early in the morning in # 22 Yishun st. I did the usual open and update my status that I was in Singapore. I was so happy to be in a different place! I think I was born to be a traveler. I thought I would see and taste Singapore. However, my sister and I needed to help our friend there to move her things out in her old dorm apartment. Her co-worker planned to move out in a different apartment, but still in Yishun. They found a more suitable apartment that would not stretch their pockets.

Exploring Yishun neighborhood wasn't bad after all. I am amazed how clean and organized Yishun neighborhood is. Singaporeans and Filipino leave in an apartment type that they call "Bird Houses"  ( Somebody told me , that term) its the only houses they can afford. Because living in Singapore is a bit expensive even for Filipino OFW. As well as owning a car in Singapore is considered a pricey.  The neighborhood of Yishun is very clean. And they have all they needed in one spot near Yishun. They can go to the market and eat a wide variety of food. From house made meals to fast food. I even ate my breakfast there. My first ever meal was called pork in steamed rice. Did I like the taste? Hmm from 1 to 10 . Its 8 because I find it hard to eat the meat and the rice. The taste is different, from the Filipino taste that I am used to. My sister knows I am a picky eater. I can't even eat the hot noodles they serve. They can even buy their stuff in vendor areas. As long as it is one place. I think Singaporeans are very strict about how they organized their shops, unlike here in the Philippines we see vendors selling fruits to ordinary novelties such as hairbands and broom sticks. But their in Singapore it is very different.

In Singapore there is a designated public bus stop. And to tell you frankly, even the overpass areas are very clean there are no loitering vendors. Unlike here in the Philippines, we can see beggars everywhere and loitering criminals in the streets. But not in Singapore. Even ordinary people that cross pedestrians are safe. But here in the Philippines. I find it very hard to cross the street, because Filipino people lack discipline especially when it comes to following the road signs and stop signs for pedestrians like me. I think the high set of rules and regulations. Such as fines can utterly give a scary warning to the people. How I wish, It should be implemented here.

I have been cross cultural in this post. I couldn't help myself compare. One thing about travelling, aside from learning. It makes you think about different perspective. I've learned that travelling sets you apart from what you have only ......."Just know".

Things about Yishun
CLEAN! I couldn't exaggerate how clean it is!
There are no parking of cars and no visible impending traffic.no litter and the air is clean and breathable in Yishun

Overpass in Yishun
Clean sidewalks

The public bus transport only stop on the designated bus stop
I haven't bathed while we transferred from a different apartment in Yishun. I still wore the same clothes when I arrived in 2 am in the morning. I seriously need a refreshing bath :)

Taken near the intersection, public taxi are color coded

The stray cats are mostly healthy in Yishun than in Philippines. I wonder why? :-)

Taken inside the public transport taxi. Usually the the public transport driver, drives on the right side. And the passenger seats in the left side and at the back. Notice my selfie? ;)

The Catwalk in Yishun, near the bus stop. And on the left side is a playground for kids.
After helping our friend to settle down with her new apartment. I just stayed in the room. I was feeling a bit tired. I didn't roamed much because I was suffering from a heartburn. All i did was sleep. Even though, I got sick I still enjoyed living and seeing the cleanest neighborhood of Yishun!

Now I can say, hey I lived in Yishun! :)
